Under the Teacher Registration Act No 38 of 2013, all five Board members are appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Minister. The Minister also nominates the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson
The Members of the Teaching Service Commission board consists of:
- a chairperson four other members appointed by the President on the recommendation of the· Minister; and
- the Executive Officer of the Vanuatu National Training Council
- At least two members of the Commission must be women
- The Vanuatu Teachers Union is to nominate a member to the Minister for recommendation to the President
