Establishment of the Committee

The establishment of this Committee is subjected to Section 10 and Section 12 of the Teaching Service Act No.38 of 2013, the Teaching Service Commission of the Teaching Service Act No 38 of 2013.

Role/Responsibilty of the committee

  • Access to the individual Teacher’s File (Confidential File). Assess and shortlist incoming Registration Applications
  • Ensure that proper measures and processes outlined in the Teacher Registration and Licensing Policy is carried out efficiently
  • Review and advise on Teacher License fees, conditions, processes and policies
  • Prepare a report of findings and present it to the Teaching Service Commission Board for their final deliberations and decisions.
  • Ensure that all policies relevant in the licensing of a Teacher must be finalised

Membership of the Committee

Members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission.

  3. TSC Data Officer
  4. TSC Snr Data Officer
  5. Snr Registration Officer
  6. Registration Officer

The Committee

  • Teacher Registration and Licensing Committee reports finding to the Teaching Service Commissioners one month after the calling of meeting
  • All minutes and are tabled at Teacher Registration and Licensing Committee for endorsement and resolution
  • Teacher Registration and Licensing Committee may make recommendation to the Teaching Service Commissioners for approval

Management of the Committee

The Teaching Service Commission Board is responsible for ensuring that the Teacher Registration and Licensing Committee act, and seen to act independently. It should be free from bias and undue influence from;

  • Political inference
  • Conflict of interest

The Teacher Registration and Licensing Committee should be constituted and operate in accordance with Teacher Registration and Licensing Policy guideline

The Teaching Service Commission office has been re- located to the Joint Court area. Located at the former examination office.
